Paintings

Although Peavy’s oil paintings are often undated and untitled, we presume she began painting the work in the collection as early as the late 1920s. Later, in the 1960s and as late as 1980, Peavy began to further rework her earlier paintings, eventually over-painting them with abstract crystalline shapes. As a result, many of her paintings are layered through time, representing several decades of work. Guided by Lacamo, her UFO mentor, each layer she added represents a new revelation and invitation for the viewer to connect with the unknown.
